The $7 million scam is worth more, I think.

As reported by CNN, Hagan Yalincak, the 22 year old [former] NYU student steals $7 million dollars from investors by posing as a member of a billionaire Turkish family.

With the stolen money, he made a donation to NYU of $1.25 million, as an installment to what eventually was supposed to amount to a $21 million donation. He did this to show the investors, who were obviously getting suspicious, that they could trust him. Because of the recent criminal charges against Hagan, NYU will give back the donation to its rightful owner.

My initial impression on the donation thing was that Hagan was making smart moves (until he got caught). Plus, fuck NYU, they're loaded.

But THEN, I found an old article from "NYU Today", dated to before the scam was exposed, detailing how great Hagan and his family are and how his much needed donation money will be put to good use.
